Forgiveness was not given to me because it was easy, but because I was never meant to carry bitterness as a companion.
I release what wounded me, not to excuse it, but to free myself from its weight.
I place justice back into God’s hands, where it belongs. I choose peace even when memory lingers.
Forgiveness has softened me—not weakened me—allowing love to flow again where pain once built walls.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
Matthew 18:21–22
Lord, help me forgive as You have forgiven me. Heal the places that still ache and replace resentment with peace. Give me the strength to release what I cannot carry and trust You with justice and restoration.
Amen.
