Sex is not love...
And as much as it is a vital part of a strong and loving relationship or marriage, it's not everything.
Intimacy is love...
Love is the long and uncomfortable conversations we have with someone, despite how far away they are and how difficult they are to have.
It also means sharing the deepest secrets you've kept from everyone else out of fear of judgment and shame.
Not only is it important to sit with the person you care about in their worst times, but it is also important to stand beside them, whether or not you receive any love in return.
Sure, you can have a great time hooking up on a one-night stand or something casual, you can also find comfort while being held all night long, even having someone answer your texts daily, but that feeling of being understood while being supported in your worst times does it for me every time.
You'll find sex anywhere and normally within a couple of texts, but you'll find depth, consistency, effort, compassion, understanding, and love in a connection that is formed away from sex.
And regardless of how much you want it, you'll be willing to wait. It's important to see every situation for what it truly is before sharing yourself with it, whether that's soulfully, spiritually, physically or mentally.
Intimacy should be left for those people we feel a connection to, and that means sex, too.
Our bodies, as precious as they are, should always belong to those who see us through their hearts and not through their eyes.
Sex with the wrong person will do more damage to your heart and soul than waiting for the right person ever will. Find a way through the impulses and the urge to allow someone into the sacred place God created for only a husband and wife.
Build meaningful connections along with strong memories so that when the urge to submit to something God never intended for you comes by, you'll have His strength and Grace to honestly just say, "No, this isn't for me."
Know this by understanding God's promise to us all. Nothing good for us comes easy. Life will trick you into believing there's nothing else more for you out there, but it's a lie.
God is forging the way forward for you, and in ways you've only ever dreamt about, just stay with Him always and trust the promises he made to you in the beginning.
It truly is the only way you'll find real love and peace within your heart by waiting on the Lord!
